Prof. Dr. med. Jalid Sehouli

Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Jalid Sehouli is a highly esteemed gynecologist and oncologist, renowned for his expertise in ovarian, peritoneal, and fallopian tube cancer. He serves as the Medical Director of the Department of Gynecology, including the Center for Oncological Surgery, at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin. He has made significant contributions to gynecological oncology, participating in numerous national and international committees and societies. His academic journey began at Freie Universität Berlin, where he studied medicine. He earned his doctorate with a dissertation on unconventional cancer therapies in 1998 and later habilitated on the topic of multimodal management of malignant ovarian tumors at Humboldt University of Berlin. Prof. Sehouli is also an accomplished author of both scientific and non-scientific publications, including books on doctor-patient communication and his experiences connecting Berlin and his family's origins in Tanger.
